Creative Biolabs Presents Custom Brain Organoid Services to Support Neuroscience Research

Based on the novel STEMODâ„¢ ex vivo model development platform, Creative Biolabs delivers custom brain organoid services to support neuroscience research.

New York, USA – August 2, 2022 – Neurological disorders are the second most lethal disease globally. Although age-standardized incidence, mortality, and prevalence rates of various neurological disorders declined in many countries from 1990 to 2015, the absolute number of people affected by, dying, or remaining disabled from neurological disorders over the past 25 years has intensified globally.

Due to the high burden of diseases worldwide, the treatment of neurological disorders requires more attention and further research effort.

Neural tissue engineering is a promising strategy for neural repair and neurological disease treatment. In this case, proper preclinical models are required to mimic the micro-environment.

Creative Biolabs has developed the STEMOD™ neuroscience ex vivo models, generated from cells, transgenic mice, and aged rats and mice. The STEMOD™ neuroscience ex vivo models can be used in neurological disease research to drive drug development from early discovery to preclinical stages.

For different research purposes, we can provide services that include but are not limited to:

• Custom neural differentiation service

• Custom brain spheroid

• Custom brain organoid service

• Custom CNS disease modeling service

• Blood-brain barrier model

Brain organoid, also known as a cerebral organoid, refers to the artificial miniature organ that resembles the brain in vitro and plays important roles in neurological research and disease modeling.

Based on the advanced platform, Creative Biolabs now provides custom brain organoid services, including forebrain organoids, cerebellar organoids, whole-brain organoids, as well as retinal organoids.

In recent years, human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) present great potential for disease modeling.

Hence, Creative Biolabs has developed a dynamic 3D culture system to produce cerebellar organoids based on iPSCs under optimal culture conditions. During the maturation process, different types of cerebellar neurons can be observed, and these neurons can survive for up to 90 days later for disease modeling.

The cerebellar organoid culture system can mass produce to enable high-throughput drug screening, as well as to support neurodevelopmental study, evolutionary study, disease modeling, drug testing, etc.

Retinal organoids have 3D structures that recapitulate the spatial and temporal differentiation of the retina and have served as an effective in vitro model for retinal development.

Creative Biolabs provides a platform for disease modeling and retinal repair cells using the 3D retinal organoids. When combined with drug screening, disease modeling using iPSC lines from patients with familial and sporadic retinal degeneration of different genetic backgrounds can enable clinical trials in a dish, thus achieving prospective selection of patients for personalized treatment.
